The procedure typically takes 1–2 hours. Local or general anesthesia can be applied. Duration may be slightly extended when combined with upper eyelid surgery.

Yes, the fat tissue removed or repositioned with lower blepharoplasty does not reform. Results are long-lasting and permanent. However, skin elasticity may decrease over time as the aging process continues.

Since the procedure is performed under anesthesia, no pain is felt. Afterward, mild tightness or discomfort may occur; easily managed with pain medication. Most patients describe the pain as minimal.

In the transconjunctival technique, since the incision is made from the inner surface, no external scar remains. In the subciliary technique, the scar is hidden just below the lash line and becomes nearly invisible within 2–3 months.

It is generally performed for age-related under-eye changes in individuals aged 30 and above. However, it can also be performed in the 20s for young patients with genetically prominent under-eye bags. Each patient is evaluated individually.
