What Is Upper Eyelid Aesthetics?
Eyelid aesthetics are surgical procedures that are applied to tighten and lift the sagging eyelid skin and remove the old and tired look in the eyes.
How Is Upper Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?
Local anesthesia is applied to numb the area where plastic surgery will be performed on the upper eyelids. Before surgery, pencil marks are drawn by your doctor to determine the exact amount of skin to be removed.
Once the area to be operated on is numb, Op.Dr. Sultan Yalcin will make an incision along the natural fold of your eyelid and remove the excess skin. Sometimes a small amount of muscle and adipose tissue can also be taken. The procedure is completed after the stitches are placed under the fold of the eyelids.
Since smoking and alcohol have negative effects on the skin, it is recommended to stop using it 3 weeks before the procedure. Also, you should not wear make-up before the surgery.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or if you are taking any medications.
This process is completed in about half an hour, but if the patient has adipose tissue on the eyelids, the procedure may take up to 1 hour.
Since local anesthesia is applied, pain is not felt during the procedure. Pain that will be felt after the surgery is minimized with painkillers.
It is normal to experience bruising and swelling in the first week after eyelid surgery. Although most of the patients return to their social life after a week, it will be useful to plan to rest for about two weeks.
Op.Dr. Sultan YALÇIN, applies techniques that will leave the surgical scars below the fold line of the eyelids, scars are hardly noticeable after healing.
