Upper Eyelid Aesthetics

What is Upper Eyelid Aesthetics?

Eyelid aesthetics are surgical procedures performed to tighten and lift sagging eyelid skin and eliminate the old and tired appearance of the eyes.

How is Upper Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?

Local anesthesia is applied to numb the area where plastic surgery will be performed on the upper eyelids. Before surgery, marks are drawn with a pencil by your doctor to determine the exact amount of skin to be removed.

Once the area to be operated on is numb, your doctor will make an incision along the natural crease of your eyelid and remove excess skin. Sometimes a small amount of muscle and fat tissue can also be removed. The procedure is completed after the stitches are placed below the fold line of the eyelids.

What Should Be Done Before Upper Eyelid Aesthetics?

Since smoking and alcohol have negative effects on the skin, it is recommended to stop using them 3 weeks before the procedure. Also, you should not wear make-up before the surgery.

If you are pregnant or taking any medications, inform your doctor.

What is the Healing Process After Upper Eyelid Aesthetics?

After upper eyelid aesthetics, your doctor will place special tapes, called strips, on your eyelids. These bands do not prevent you from seeing. After the surgery, you will usually have a painless and comfortable process with the antibiotics, painkillers and eye ointment your doctor will prescribe. We recommend applying plenty of ice after surgery. Renew your tapes after the first check on the 3rd day of the procedure. Generally, your stitches are removed on the 6th day, and then you can return to your daily life and work.
